Using Email Filters to Help Approach Inbox Zero
It’s astonishing how one’s inbox can quickly become a repository of countless messages that slowly turn from a seemingly minor nuisance to one of the biggest email chores to handle. Some messages even enter inboxes that have an intent to ‘phishingly’ harm. I’m not even talking about spam here because what’s more subtle is the growing number of bacn. These are...

PicPick as an alternative to SnagIt
For over a year now I’ve been searching for a SnagIt (by Techsmith) alternative especially one with the scrolling capture feature which I find very useful for screen-captures. I admit PicPick Tools has really caught my eye. I’ve tried other candidates like Faststone Capture, Greenshot, etc., but it’s either they’re not truly free for personal use or it lacks the scrolling...

On Basic Security & Suspicious Email
I have been getting an awful lot of similar looking suspicious email recently. There seems to be a vulnerability in mail security that a phishing group probably may have taken advantage of. Do not click the links on these emails! The trend to this malicious trick is to use or merge a portion or the whole of your friend’s username or use related or popular titles in the internet like facebook...

Do You Hear What I Hear? (Van Risseghem)
As the month of December starts today, I stumbled upon this interesting remake. What do you hear as the holiday season is fast approaching?

A courtroom quotation (from things people said)
Lawyer: "Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?"
Witness: "No."
Lawyer: "Did you check for blood pressure?"
Witness: "No."
Lawyer: "Did you check for breathing?"
Witness: "No."
Lawyer: "So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?"
Witness: "No."
Lawyer: "How can you be so sure, Doctor?"
Witness: "Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar."
Lawyer: "But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?"
Witness: "Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere."

6 upcoming images to make up for backlog
It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted on my tumblelog, so I hope these would make up for the number of months I have been out - at least on the copyrighted images department (unless otherwise explicitly specified)

Opting out of Friendster
After a few weeks of having contemplated on deactivating my Friendster account in favor of Multiply & Facebook, I have decided to stay my decision & passively maintain my profile since it already has been this way for the past few years. IMHO Friendster’s appeal has since been eclipsed by FB’s aesthetic & ‘viral’ nature. Athough friendster had its own feeds, for...

Welcome 09
Our families had taken the opportunity to welcome the new year by giving God the glory first more than anything else. It is always a wonderful experience & most fitting to give Him & His righteousness due praise especially during the first hours of the year. For His love & faithfulness towards us, His new mercies, and of course because He deserves it!
From exchanging stories on how...

1st Calumpit Daybreak
Don’t you just love early mornings in a brand new place that you’re staying in? I could never outgrow the feeling. As far as I can remember, my first experience of this was when my cousins and I would sleep over at my Anma’s place (God rest her soul) in Fernhill. We’d wake up to the smell of dew (or what’s left of it), big red roses, and of course good ol’ rich...

Trip to Calumpit
It’s been a good year or so since my family’s traveled out of the metro, and thanks to a very kind friend who’s offered their place for welcoming the new year – we’ve been blessed indeed to have this special time spent away from the blatant noise & expected gunpowder smoke.
Since traveling out of country would be a luxury at this time we grabbed the opportunity to...

Internet Email Features - Comparing Likes &...
a fellow Linkedin Group member asked: Do you like or dislike the new features of Gmail? How does Gmail compare to others free emails, such as Yahoo.com and Hotmail.com?
I have maintained my other accounts at Live & Y! as a means to either retain reputation scores for Y!A, to keep friends on that IM network who hesitate creating a new address on Google, and/or for Flickr use. And I know for...

Verdict for microblogging platform usage
this is related to one of my earliest posts here and would serve as an update to what has transpired.
since i’ve tried out tumblr & pownce, i had assumed that they were actually on the same level of competition, and so i experienced that i was mistaken. it was more of a pownce versus twitter battle. with the demise of pownce (having been absorbed by six-apart & re-packaged as...
